> **Pros**: It fulfills the basic needs for LIS integration.  Interfaces are available for most common analyzers.

> **Cons**: Sunquest is very basic with a user unfriendly interface which is not intuitive at all.  Of the LIS solutions I have used in the past, Sunquest easily required the most training for users.  There is also little ability to add flexibility into the software.  As a result, we utilized third party middleware to add the horsepower we needed to manage chemistry and hematology results effectively.

While the middleware did make Sunquest useable, its disappointing to have to rely on a third party solution which effectively bypasses Sunquest's functionality for anything other than a data passthrough.

Lets not forget the two "sides" to Sunquest.  There is a text based command line side and a graphical interface (often referred to as Mysis).  Certain functionalities are only found on one side with switching between the two common daily practice.
