I love the way I can easily see all the differences between large projects in multiple folders, usually filtering out artifacts (.bin, .obj, etc) and then simply drilling down to differences between individual files. It is important that BC handles many file formats in addition to text and has many filter options. BC makes merging files, especially 3-way merges, very easy.
