Reviews of Notion
Notion Review
Comments: A positive experience where I had a great time using it to track my team projects. Notion improved task assignments within a team.
Pros:
It is versatile and user-friendly. I like it as a note-taking and planning tool.
Cons:
When working on projects, Notion could become clustered with notes as the project depth increases.
Flexible and Customizable, but Takes Time to Master
Comments: Overall, my experience with Notion was positive. Its versatility made it great for organizing content and projects in one place, though it required some setup to fully unlock its potential.
Pros:
I liked Notion's flexibility in creating customized pages, databases, and templates, which allowed me to tailor it perfectly for content planning and project management.
Cons:
What I liked least was the learning curve, as setting up complex workflows or databases could take time. It also lacked some advanced project management features compared to dedicated tools.
Has been turned into a (terribly) AI-driven platform powered by corporate greed that baits users into paying
Comments: We used it for two years, daily, both personally for our home lives, and professionally, however, with the rapid rate at which this platform declined, and then having our data locked read-only until we pay because we hit a limit that they removed the ability to measure or observe, was just the straw that broke the camels back.
Pros:
Originally a really good UI, available on multiple platforms, very dynamic and responsive. Free and paid plans available
Cons:
AI was eventually force-fed into every aspect of the app. Then the removed the option to turn it off - even in paid plans. The free plan was then turned into a bait-and-switch tactic
Alternatives Considered:
A high powered program with some flaws
Comments: I use Notion for business management and to handle the business information of one of my most valued clients. While it is almost unlimited in its functionality, when you hit one of those limits, it can be felt. In particular there are mission critical plug-ins (Notion Calendar) that work well on a web browser but -- oddly -- aren't compatible with their own desktop software. When it's good, Notion is very, very good. But it does have its limits.
Pros:
Ease of use and cross-compatibility with other software like Asana, etc.
Cons:
While the developers seem responsive to their users needs, non-critical but seemingly major items can take forever to be resolved

Notion is the superior notes taking app
Comments: I was an Apple Notes guy for a long time. However, there were two features that I didn't like about it. One, I couldn't link my notes together and two, it was cumbersome to share my notes with others, especially non-iphone users. Notion solved both these problems and provides an excellent user interface.
Pros:
Notion is the superior notes taking app. A few of my favorite features are the ability to organize withing projects and tasks, the ability to have different kind of notes (one type for personal notes, and another to track tasks), the ability to publish notes to the web without needing a specific domain, and the ability to share notes with others on your team and have them update easily.
Cons:
Notion does take a little while to learn, but once you understand how the system works, it's excellent. I use it for my personal notes as well as project tracking with my team.

Notion as a Tool for Project Planning and Social Media Content Strategy
Comments: I’m extremely pleasantly surprised by how many features Notion offers, even in its free version. Previously, my work tasks and tracking their progress were scattered across different places. Now, I can keep everything in one place and monitor the progress of various tasks within a single app. With Notion, my workflow is now clearer, and things are more under control. Overall, it’s a very flexible application that adapts to a wide range of needs.
Pros:
I started using Notion because I needed to organize my work tasks better. Soon, I realized that Notion allows me to plan my content strategy and social media calendar with extreme ease and clarity. The biggest benefit has been the ability to save inspirational material from around the internet without consuming storage space on my computer or phone. I’ve created tables and a calendar where I can track the progress of each of my projects.
Cons:
Alongside Notion, I started using the Notion calendar, which can also sync with Google Calendar, for example. This calendar is, of course, synchronized with the project management table I created in Notion. This feature has also been extremely helpful. However, I would appreciate the ability to customize the calendar’s color scheme (it’s currently just gray), so that different events and reminders would stand out more clearly.

Infinite possibilities to organize your company and your life
Comments: Overall I am very pleased to use Notion both in my professional and personal life.
Pros:
What I like most about Notion is that it has infinite possibilities on how to use it. I can use it for business to track my project management but I can also set it up to help me run a Dungeons & Dragons session in my free time.
Cons:
What I like least about Notion is that some of my clients find it too complicated to use. They are usually not very tech-savvy.
Alternatives Considered:
Flexibility and wikis
Comments: I started using Notion on my personal projects, and then I was happy to discover that my new team was also using it to store all the information about our clients and projects in a wiki manner.
Pros:
The flexibility to create a database that really suits the needs of the team or the company.
Cons:
Sometimes, the search bar is not that accurate. The IA is not that well developed either.
Awesome organiser
Comments: Very glad to have switched over from Evernote. Now my notes are better organised and easier to access. No more conflicting documents when I switch devices as well.
Pros:
1. Most important pro is how features aren't locked behind a paywall. 2. It is very versatile and light, and opens quickly on various devices and sync quickly across them. 3. Search function is extremely intuitive. 4. Love the keyboard shortcuts as well.
Cons:
1. It can get quite intimidating to get started. 2. It isn't easy to share notes with non-users, and not possible to have co-edit with non-users.
All in one tool, can be intimidating at first, but dont let it be!
Comments: Incredible versality. I can create tables, trackers, notebooks, landing pages, team management pages and so much more. I like that theres everything in one platformz but it does get overwhelming at times only because i feel theres so much MORE i could be doing with notion but i have no clue where to even begin. I love the templates too.
Pros:
Notion is multiple platforms all in one, it is so moldable to what i need, i dont think i can do business without notion
Cons:
Knowing how to use all the features to its maximum capacity. I wish there was an easy yo identify pop up or place to give me a training on how to maximize my notion
Collaborative Design Hub
Comments: We chose Notion as it supports the documentation of different types of the design information. That is why its ability to work with text, images, and databases all in one place matched our requirement for an all-in-one information center. For our design team's knowledge management system, Notion stands as the essential foundation. Bringing together different tools broke down separations and boosted our visibility of relationships within design tasks.
Pros:
We use Notion for its ability to manage a range of design information types. Conversely, it mixes text and images with databases in a unified workspace that supports our desire for a common information repository.
Cons:
Regarding the visualization of data, the features of table views are known to support only a few formats. The lack of a developed asset library means that it is necessary to integrate with external storage systems.
Alternatives Considered:
Flexibility at your fingertips!
Comments: I'm constantly impressed by the new updates that Notion is putting out -- I love that it's a collaborative tool with a strong relationship with its user community. It really feels like the company is listening to its customers and responding to their feedback, and also working closely with third party apps to create flexible, seamless experiences.
Pros:
Notion is such a versatile and powerful tool! I use it extensively for collaboration and planning at work and in my personal life. The UI is incredibly intuitive, so even though there's so much you can do in the app, it's never overwhelming or difficult to figure out how to achieve the outcome you're looking for.
Cons:
Notion is a very flexible tool, so it's really helpful if you come into a project with an idea of what you want your end result to be. Without that initial "vision," I had some trouble fully communicating the app's capabilities and scope to my colleagues.
Alternatives Considered:
My favorite productivity tool!
Comments: One of my favorite tools ever! Can't live without it now. Use it both for tasks, projects, planning trips, journaling, and much more!
Pros:
It's so versatile and easy to use! All-in-one software for productivity, notes, and more.
Cons:
A bit slow and pretty bad on mobile and iPad.
Alternatives Considered:
My company's one stop resource
Comments: Notion was very easy to set up and my team found the content and functionality very easy to adopt. It's the one place my team an find everything they need related to our business.
Pros:
Notion is my company's internal source for everything, such as co-worker profiles, most used documents, task management, company handbook, work events, and payroll information.
Cons:
As a non-tech, non-design person, I found it challenging to choose the right templates and set up the most user-friendly design for my team. There are pages I have built that do not get used because of how I have designed them.
Great for taking any type of notes
Comments: My main use for Notion is for taking notes on my work clients for me to remember all key details about them. I also use Notion for personal use, such as meal planning and for vacations itinerary.
Pros:
The best part of Notion is how customizable this can be depending on if you need to track work assignments or school notes. The AI feature for writing can be so useful when you need to ask for definitions when taking notes or if you need to add an statistic but you forgot the exact number.
Cons:
The set up is hard, its a system that if you don't know how to use it can be hard to navigate.
Alternatives Considered:
Notion is a fully customizable project-management solution
Comments: Overall I am very pleased with Notion, as we have successfully built a functional project management system that serves as a well-oiled system for managing our company's workflow. The pricing is significantly less than well-known alternatives.
Pros:
I like that Notion allows full customization in building the databases, and does not force you into a pre-determined template like other project management systems. While the trade-off is more time spent up front learning how Notion works and building out the templates, it is worth it to have everything tailored to your business.
Cons:
The biggest drawback was the time it took to build out our Notion databases, and figure out how we should do it. There was a learning curve, and we are continually figuring new things out. Also, we really wish Notion and Google Calendar would sync, because Notion's Calendar lacks the functionality and aesthetic qualities of Google.
Simple, powerful, and efficient
Comments: Notion is a practical and enjoyable tool to use. Its intuitive interface and powerful databases make it an excellent choice for organizing daily tasks and taking notes. Despite a few minor downsides, it stands out as one of the best apps of its kind.
Pros:
Notion is a tool incredibly easy to use (thanks to its intuitive interface). Everything is clear and easy to grasp, even for beginners. It’s a true all-in-one tool, allowing for note-taking, task management, and project organization in one place. The standout feature compared to competitors is its flexible databases, which let you organize information however you like.
Cons:
The main flaw of Notion is that there is no offline mode. Additionally, while it's simple for basic tasks, it can take some time to master its more advanced features, especially around databases.
Better tasks, bad access on iphone cellphones.
Comments: In the procedure of creating the tasks it has been good, in the access process to see the information that we have dedicated very badly, since an expensive program like this should have the ability to fix the login problem through iPhone.
Pros:
For group work, we generated a particular task followed by very well done tasks. In fact, the engineers could leave notes so that the next day the next engineer could continue with the work, which was essential to advance in large development projects and we knew in What exact stage were we are.
Cons:
I had very bad access to information with iOS, almost every time we accessed Android phones, access to the panel was simple, it was fast, responsive and everything was fine, but with iPhone phones things changed and I don't know exactly if it was the operating system or that the program supposedly blocked which was strange. In this sense, it generated delays since almost all of us have iPhone phones in the team.
Versatile cross between database and project management
Comments: At first I found it a bit confusing, but after working with it for awhile and adding templates from other creators I got the hand of it. I am still not using the full capabilities of the app mainly due to the mobile issues, but I am sure I will use it more fully in the future.
Pros:
I like that Notion is highly customizable. It can be both a project management tool and a database. You can create any type of field and enter the relevant information. You can add as much or as little information as you want. Therefore, you can use it to keep research notes organized and plan the project in the same app. Thus, it is much more versatile than straight forward project management tools.
Cons:
The app is a bit buggy and resource intensive. Often it will cause my iPad Pro to have a meltdown and I have to shut down to get it to work again.
A tool for everyday use
Comments: My experience with Notion has been very positive. It has become an essential tool for both my personal and professional life due to its all-in-one nature. I appreciate how I can use it to manage my tasks, organize projects, take notes, and collaborate with others, all in a single platform.
Pros:
One of the things I liked most about Notion is its incredible flexibility. Notion combines note-taking, task management, databases, and collaboration tools all in one platform.
Cons:
What I liked least about Notion is its performance when handling large databases or complex pages. As the content grows, the application can become sluggish, especially on mobile devices.
Notion is by far the Best Project Management Software ever!
Comments: Notion is something that you can do some brain dump with but at the same time, when you are not overwhelmed with every task that you have to do, you can easily arrange and put everything in order from your brain dumping. You can customize it in a way that you want and what you find manageable, making it easier for you to navigate your won personal agendas without it being all over the place. I can even use it offline and still work on my projects. The mobile app of Notion is easy to use as well so there really is nothing more I need. It's something that I've discovered back when I was still a student but it is still something that I love using now that I am an employee and a business owner.
Pros:
What I love most about Notion is that I can easily do project collaborations with my business partners, we can simply edit or arrange the page to our preference. I love how I can easily customize a page in whatever I like but mostly, I love how it can help you get your tasks done and know which one to prioritize or which ones need less attention, it helps a lot with time management as well.
Cons:
I’ve been using Notion for 4 years now and I can't say anything against it because I only loved it ever since!
A powerful hub at the heart of the business
Comments: We utilise Notion as our central hub, organising client tasks, agendas, knowledge bases, user workloads, task management
Pros:
The ease of customisation - how effectively we have been able to make it the hub of our business, working exactly how we want it to
Cons:
The learning curve is quite steep for some users who have migrated from other systems, but it's hard to see how that wouldn't be the case considering how much it is able to do
The best app for planning and management
Comments: The experience was really awesome and I'm using notion every day
Pros:
I liked the most the progress tracker and the feature to do it through app
Cons:
I liked least the working with group feature and it was a premium feature
Notion - A great platform for writers and other creatives
Comments: Notion is a great service for writers such as myself as it puts everything into one place instead of having to switch between multiple apps when working on a project.
Pros:
Notion combines the features of multiple productivity apps into one convenient platform that saves valuable storage space on your device and gives you less things to keep track of which is definitely a bonus.
Cons:
The premium plans can be expensive for users with a low budget and Notion has limited functionality when offline which can be inconvenient for users in rural areas without reliable Internet.
Alternatives Considered:
A perfect fit if you're willing to learn.
Pros:
Notion is a sandbox in the project management department. It can fit perfectly into any workflow and makes it incredibly easy share this in and outside of your team. If you're team is looking for a quick solution, Notion is always a fit.
Cons:
The Text Editor, when compared to more mature software like Google Docs, still lags behind a bit. I would characterize Notion more as a place where content ends up, rather than where it is initially written down.
