- **Pricing Details**: CounterShadow is licensed per AMI Responder on an annual subscription. An AMI Responder is a unit of autonomous investigation capacity. You size your deployment by how much alert volume you need investigated, and add Responders as that volume grows.

Pricing is organised into four categories:

Software: the AMI Responder subscription itself.
Storage: investigation data and evidence retention, sold separately so you only pay for what you keep.
Services: onboarding, integration work and custom operating flows.
Support: support and maintenance, sold separately from the software licence.

Standard AMI Responders cover your average load. For peaks, Elastic AMIs sit on top of your standard licences. They start automatically when your standard Responders reach full utilisation, run only while needed, and are billed hourly on a pay-as-used basis. Each standard AMI Responder allows up to three Elastic AMIs. Elastic AMIs are available on every deployment model.

The same licensing applies whether you deploy as SaaS, private cloud, hybrid, on-premises or air-gapped. For MSSPs, the platform is multi-tenant with per-customer isolation and controls, so one deployment can serve many customers.
