Comments: once i figured out things it was a great program, especially for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

It's just amazing to have everything in one software. I used to juggle between tools, which made HR and managers on the field disconnected.

The premium features have increasingly been pushed to higher tier plans
A word of warning: Easy to get going, but customer support is non-existent and errors are made
Pros:
Easy to onboard - you can get going right away. This is typically a starter company software, but they seem to be inable to handle any sory of maturity.
Cons:
Customer support is inconcistent and poor. Everything is shipped overseas to a team that is not sufficiently trained. Errors are made and they take NO responsibility. When offboarding, they stand behind policies that don't make sense to squeeze the last bit of money out of you. They will also change pricing tiers with no notice so features are now excluded from your plan. You can't even get a dedicated support rep to help with anything. We switched off Gusto and the way they handled themselves at the end will make me never go back to them at future companies.
Gusto: a solid hub for small business employee management
Comments: My company uses Gusto to track hours and keep certain documents (tax, onboarding, signable forms from Jotform, etc). Its greatest asset lies in its integration of time clock and payroll services.
Pros:
Gusto is impressively versatile — it can be used as a hub for both documents and hours tracking!
Cons:
The only things I don't like: 1. How quickly access would time out, and how long the app often takes to load a new screen (~15+ seconds at times). 2. Some quirks affecting ease of entry for tracking hours (e.g. not being able to adjust the clock-out time to a future time, the requirement to enter a note before you can save a shift). Some companies it might make sense to have those requirements in place, but that could be better customizable.

Comments: Overall, I have had a positive experience using Gusto. It has really simplified a lot of the HR elements for me and has allowed us to remain organized throughout. All in all, I like the product.
Pros:
As a startup business executive, Gusto has been excellent in simplifying the payroll and HR processes. It has made payroll effortless, handling taxes, benefits, and employee payments in a way that's easy to manage. I also want to share another highlight of Gusto, and that is its onboarding experience. New hires can enter their information and sign documents digitally, which saves time and keeps everything organized from day one.
Cons:
Perhaps one of the bigger challenges with Gusto is its limited customization options. While it does cover the basics well, if your organization has unique payroll or benefit requirements, it can be difficult to tailor the platform to meet those needs.

Mucho gusto, Gusto
Comments: Super ease of use with Gusto. Very clean UI with great hand drawn art before the days of A.I. art. Managing paystubs and requesting time off was very easy and enjoyable. I had a really good experience with using Gusto, until my company moved to a competitor provider.
Pros:
I loved Gusto's simplified and easy to use GUI. It also had very nice minimalist art that was very cute and appealing. I enjoyed using it to track my paystubs and submit request to take paid time off.
Cons:
I didn't have much I didn't like about Gusto, except when my company moved to a competitor and I could no longer use it.
Easy To Use Payroll System

While Gusto doesn't include time tracking and next-day direct deposit in its most basic plan, this is balanced by the option to integrate with third-party time management apps, providing flexibility for businesses to tailor the service according to their specific needs.

A Simplified HR Solution
Comments: An excellent tool for managing the HR side of things.
Pros:
Gusto makes managing payroll and benefits easy for employed graphic designers, with a user-friendly interface that streamlines pay stubs, tax forms, and health benefits in one platform, saving time on administrative tasks. It also offers features like PTO tracking and direct deposit, which makes handling work-life balance more straightforward.
Cons:
Doesn't offer design-specific features or integrations that could enhance a creative team's workflow.
If your budget is small, Gusto may work for you.
Comments: I hate Gusto with a passion, but the price is right. Just know that you will have to pay your team by check and reconcile it later every 2-3 months due to Gusto problems. I'm actively trying to find a more secure solution. I have little faith that things are being calculated correctly either.
Pros:
The user interface is really nice looking and it is easy to get started and use - when it is working.
Cons:
There are a LOT of glitches, and customer service cannot help you at all. Some of their backend processes make no sense, and they get really snarky when you ask questions.

Gusto is worth it!
Comments: Whenever we have had issues, Gusto has really tried to remedy them. I appreciate all that they have done and do for us. I needed to reach out and they really tried to work things our for us.

Extremely Unreliable Payroll Service
Comments: It has been extremely stressful. Starting a new business, especially on a smaller scale is already a stressful experience daily. The last thing you want to stress about is your staff being paid in a timely manner. I literally log into Gusto daily to make sure my access to run payroll isn't blocked for some crazy reason. It's unreal! This is by far the most stressful experience. I am honestly leaving this review to avoid potential customers the headache, not because Gusto will take any of this into consideration.
Pros:
Onboarding process is easy and easy interface for employees.
Cons:
Customer service is absolutely horrible. There's no problem-solving solutions in place. There are many times that I call and hang up to call back once I hear Someone that I know will not be any help to me. I keep calling until I hit the lottery and actually get someone who is invested in helping me resolve issues. There's no care for the actual business owner. This company only cares about their monthly fee and could care less about your issues with their company. They take forever to resolve issues, like a whole week. SO, make sure you don't have any payroll issues during the pay week because your staff will not get paid through this platform.

FSA unusable. BBB likely will investigate in the future
Comments: We’ve been using Gusto for years, and while there have been ups and downs, the biggest disappointment has been their FSA platform. It’s truly subpar compared to other services we’ve used. It seems like the default approach is to deny claims, even when we provide all the correct documentation and information. The process is unnecessarily frustrating, with no clear explanations for denials, leaving us in a constant loop of resubmitting claims and waiting for approval that never seems to come. Gusto’s FSA platform feels more like an obstacle than a helpful service, and it has caused headaches for our team. Intuitive onboarding platform-takes a lot of work out my hands
Pros:
Onboarding new employees takes no time at all.With a few clicks Gusto sends the online form to your candidates and alerts you once it is ready for approval.Its like having a full HR team at your fingertips but literally for a fraction of cost.
Cons:
As the time grows it can be slightly expensive.

Worst customer service!

The system is easy to use, but it is super problematic.
Cons:
Firstly, the customer service aspect has been less than satisfactory. On multiple occasions, responses to inquiries and issues were delayed or lacked the depth and clarity needed to resolve concerns efficiently. It's crucial for a service provider in such a critical domain as payroll and HR to offer prompt and effective support to its customers. Unfortunately, this has not always been the case, leaving our team in challenging positions during time-sensitive periods. Another significant issue encountered was the unexpected cancellation of payroll processes without prior notice. Not only has this caused confusion but also operational delays, affecting the morale of our workforce due to the unpredictability of their compensation. We've been met with no information, no solution. There have been instances where former employees were not promptly removed from our benefits plan for months even after being notified, leading to unnecessary complications and financial discrepancies. This oversight underscores a need for a more rigorous system or checks to ensure that employee status changes are accurately and timely reflected across all service aspects provided by Gusto.

Gusto: Great interface and tools!
Comments: My overall experience with gusto was above average. They were my companies first ever payroll application and I’m glad we experienced them first. The interface was easy to use and to understand for a first time business owner. I struggled with maintaining the pricing model and had to switch to a cheaper competitor for bottom line purposes.
Pros:
What I liked most about the product probably had to be the all inclusive packages for businesses. They handled pay memos, 1099 fillings and even communicated with the IRS on my behalf as my financial institution. Very good product. I also loved that gusto covered onboarding and HR paper work.
Cons:
The pricing model is a bit expensive and can be intimidating to new businesses. They also don’t really have a good sales team that communicates features productively to ensure transparency.

An awesome system for small business
Comments: I overall like Gusto. I really like there customers service. They really try to help and will find an answer for you. Even if they cannot they will escalate it without you saying too much.
Pros:
I like the price. I like how I can pay my full-time and contractors all in one place. I like how they offer so many small business options for people who doesn't know what your supposed to have and not have. They will assist setting up all the tax information with you.
Cons:
I don't like how you cannot do same day payment with certain tiers.

This company sucks
Pros:
This company sucks. They have terrible service. I switched banks and updated the information before I ran payroll so it would come out of my new account and selected the new account as the primary. The old account, there was no obvious way to remove it, and I thought electing the new account would take care of it. They drew out of the closed (old) account, which obviously didn't have any money in it, then charged me $100 per day "penalty" and as a punishment, they removed my same day deposit, WHILE STILL CHARGING ME FOR IT. Then, after explaining to them that this was their error, about 6 conversations, they refused to reinstate my same day deposit for which they were still charging me, were extremely condescending, AND REFUSED to refund me the $500 they charged as a penalty. Terrible company. Dont use them.

Terrible Support
Comments: Dissatisfied in the end. I incurred multiple bank fees due to a mistake that took way to long to correct
Pros:
Onboarding ease. New employees were easily onboarded and reported to the state.
Cons:
Gusto like many software companies FAIL when it comes to providing adequate and thorough support. If you never run into issues, then the software works perfectly. If you have the unfortunate mistake of needing Gusto to correct a mistake they made, you will discuss this with 4 or 5 people vie email and chat and no one will share information with the other. It’s been a headache and after 17 months, I’m cutting ties.

A Good Choice for Payroll Management
Comments: Overall, I am pleased with Gusto. I love how simple it is to view all previous paystubs in addition to the year-to-date breakdown. I also think the calendar with special company dates listed is a thoughtful feature.
Pros:
I enjoy how simple it is to view all of your paystubs and update information. It was also very easy to adjust the paycheck split as well when in previous payroll systems, it would take literal days/weeks to make a single adjustment.
Cons:
I don't like that I can't view my upcoming paycheck and sometimes the check is delayed. In my other roles, I'm able to view my incoming check the day before it is deposited into my account, but that doesn't seem to be the case with Gusto.
