Configuration of Okta to suit any unique requirements can take some time and may require some customization. The pricing can also be slightly higher compared to some other offerings, but for the overall features and ecellent support, it's worth the price that is paid.

Comments: I like the dashboard of being able to create schedules and calendars of employees assigned to certain after hour responsibilities. When the password prompts you to reset, it won't allow it. It will ask for a security phrase that I was told "has no answer" so you'll never get back in and you have to reach out to customer service to have it reset. None of the security questions you pick are relative.

Essential service to improve authentication.

Comments: In our comapny, the use of Okta has been essential, due to the high number of accounts we have in the cloud for our employees, in addition, we manage several platforms that require a login, so that is where the role of Okta comes into play, as it is responsible for authorizing any logins to the accounts we use for our company. In general, it has given me incredible security, I have been able to integrate it with the most platforms to add a login method, in addition, Okta has given me a way to keep our accounts secure with a fairly complex and almost impossible to rape. I feel safe with the login security provided by Okta, I will continue using it as an authentication service for a longer time.

Pros:

The first feature that I liked is the way in which Okta records any login attempt, this helps a lot since it is capable of detecting when unwanted people are trying to enter our system, this way we can be attentive to any suspicious login. Okta also throws in two-step verification codes, which are essential to maintaining security at every login. Okta allows me to generate one-time codes to log in so I don't use my default to access an account. Auth0 allows me to manage users, which helps me add or remove users whenever I want. Auth0 sends me notifications every time a user is going to access an account I receive those notifications on my mobile device and I like that because it keeps me informed of everything.

Cons:

There isn't a single feature that I didn't like about Okta, it has been an extremely important platform to maintain proportional security in the login of all our employees in the company. Since we started using Okta, our login and authentication has benefited in a big way.

Set up was complex. It really does require dedicated IT resources to configure properly. There are advanced features that are hard to set up without expert help.

Comments: I have been using it for past few year and have been growing my skillsets as I go! It is very agile tool if your company is focused on automation and management of various software.

It is a multi-tasking tool that can be used for variety if things such as dynamic grouping, SCIM provisioning, SAML, user on/off boarding etc. The most powerful tool within Okta is its workflows.

Cons:

Pricing, its an expensive product and you rarely get any discounts.

Comments: Overall we have had very positive experiences with Okta.

Okta is incredibly versatile and checks all the boxes for our Identity and Access management, security and compliance needs. Product updates are frequent and there are so many different ways you can streamline onboarding, offboarding and general management.

Cons:

Some of the reporting capabilities and logging were behind but they are catching up on this now.

Comments: Okta proved to be a great experience for me. As the manager, Security Operations, it helped in centralizing and simplifying identity management across our organization. This position to enforce similar security policies across every account can really be a game-changer. What I love about Okta is the seamless integration of a lot of apps from cloud to premises-based. The adaptive MFA and SSO brought a great leap in the security and users' collective experience. More importantly, real-time threat insight from Okta has been helpful with strong remediation action against the same to help prevent those risks in the future.

Cons:

While Okta is very powerful, the setup-especially for organizations that must keep to certain regulations-could be a little overwhelming. The learning curve was quite great, especially when trying to conduct some customization of roles and permissions. However, detailed documentation and help resources allowed us to fill in these items effectively.

Comments: Overall, it is a great tool that I have used in more than one company and can understand why it's used in a lot of tech companies. I would recommend this tool.

I love how easy Okta is to use. Once you login, all the apps that you have access to are just a simple click away. It feels like an added level of security as I've tried to access some apps listed in Okta by just using the site's password and username, but was redirected to sign in through Okta instead.

Cons:

Only real challenge is how often we are prompted to change our password. It can take some creativity to come up with new and unused passwords every couple months. (Although I fully understand and respect the frequent password changes as that is part of good security practices.)

I used to have access problem to my account and the system keep rejecting my authentication. All is fine after customer support agent helps me with the issues and I never happen again after that.

Everything in one spot

Pros:

That every tool/website that I need access to is downloaded, and can search for anything that I would need access to, can also add outside websites to this tool. Even super helpful when we have other departments that need access to other tools, it is set up for that department so they wouldn't have access to tools they shouldn't. Big bonus is when an individual leaves the company we have one shut down vs multiple spots to shut down.

Cons:

I do not have any cons about Okta, for my use I find it extremely helpful.

Comments: I have been using Okta since my first day at work, and there are no major issues I encounter compared to other tolls that I have tried. Once you log in to Okta, there are no lags or delays.

Well, it's very easy to use because when you log in, you can see ahead all the tools that you need for your daily job. You don't need to click another tab or search for them.

Sometimes the code arrives late, but it's understandable. Maybe it's just because of the wifi connections.
