The only upside was that their accounts department eventually issued us a full credit note for $40,000+ to wipe our contract balance to $0.00 after we challenged their pre-sales misrepresentations. > > **Cons**: Clunky \& Non-Intuitive Interface: Basic setup requires navigating endless confusing menus, and the platform feels completely out of touch with real trade workflows. Broken Sales Promises: Sales reps guaranteed in writing that Simpro would end "Excel chaos" and handle digital quoting seamlessly. Weeks into onboarding, their own implementation consultant admitted on record that Simpro cannot handle complex corrugated roofing calculations natively and that we would have to stick with external spreadsheets. Poor Account Support: Account management and support were slow and unhelpful when we hit major operational roadblocks. Internal Administrative Disconnect: Their internal departments completely failed to communicate—Legal initially claimed to have reviewed sales call recordings, then later claimed under the Privacy Act that no recordings existed. Weeks after our balance was zeroed out by accounts, an external collection agency emailed us out of the blue chasing payment for the cancelled contract. > > Our overall experience was frustrating, time-consuming, and full of administrative chaos. Simpro overpromised during the sales stage and failed to deliver on basic trade functionalities during onboarding. We ultimately forced a $40,000+ contract cancellation because we kept a paper trail of every broken promise. After this whole ordeal, we went back to Tradify and started utilizing more of its features. Going back to a platform built for trade businesses that actually works without the clunkiness has been a huge breath of fresh air. The software is really only suitable for large, multisite businesses who have the budget to spend on the software and the staff to manage it. > > AVOID at all costs\!\! This company is only after your money. The sales person had an amazing pitch and sold me on convenience and process driven application which was meant to reduce the admin staff I require, instead, I had to employ an additional staff member to work Simpro properly. First - they charged a discounted rate of approx $6000NZD for set up (our replacement software Tradify had NIL set up cost). The set up was incomplete and incompatible, it was meant to reconcile with Xero however it completely missed supplier invoices, or at best sent them across incorrectly. Invoicing was a nightmare, and could take several hours to produce a single invoice. Because they couldn't get their supplier invoice system to work properly, we were told that the only solution was for the supplier to change their invoices to suit Simpro\! This defies belief, the supplier is an international company LOL. When the new staff member was employed, they wanted $750NZD for 3hours of training\!\! Then, for every "user" it costs $200NZD per month, and if that "user" needs the mobile app, another $50NZD for month. Upon contacting them to complain, they had no complaints policy or procedure, no escalation process and when I pushed, their only response was to talk to their lawyers\!
