> **Pros**: Mailenable is a great standards based mail server.  It has support for all of the open protocols, SMTP, IMAP4, POP3, iCAL etc.  these work without a hitch.  The Web interface for both users and administration is very efficient and easy to use.It has the capability of doing ActiveSync for mobile devices with an additional yearly subscription.  It can also work directly with MAPI with and additional Outlook plugin.

> **Cons**: The only negative is the MAPI plugin for Outlook, it is unstable and often crashes or quits working  and requires a reinstall of the plugin.  They are aware of the problem for years and have not fixed it.
> 
> The mail server is stable a fast.  I would highly recommend it.

> **Pros**: Good value for money - the standard edition is free and feature-rich. It was easy for us to install and deploy for an organisation of around 40 users.
> 
> **Cons**: Management was tedious compared to the cloud-based alternative we inevitably switched to. We had some deliverability issues, where emails often took several minutes, and sometimes hours, to be received.
> 
> We used MailEnable several years ago as our email server. As a free email tool, it functioned well, albeit with some limitations around delayed sending and tedious account management. However, our organisation was eligible for free use of an alternative, cloud-based email system, which we decided to switch to.
