Wave - Accounting Software

Comments: I've used Wave for nearly five years now. It's simple to use, and the cost is pretty low compared to some of the other options out there. I have had a few technology hiccups from time to time that have created some extra work and had me exploring other options, but each time it was eventually resolved, and I am still with them.

Pros:

Wave is pretty easy to use, and if you can't figure it out on your own, the help documents are pretty easy to follow and guide you to the right spot.

Cons:

It's invoicing only so it's not as robust as some competitor products that also include documents for proposals and such.

Fantastic for most uses

Comments: Really good overall. There are just some things they struggled to help me do. I didn't really want to pay for a full subscription for each property.

Pros:

The free version used to offer more but it still offers a lot. It integrates with Plaid. It has a native payment processor that reconciles. It has an algorithm to match and merge transactions. I would have stuck around but there was a better value offer elsewhere.

Cons:

The sole reason to switch was that they wanted to charge me for a full account for each project/property that I wanted to integrate onboard. I needed better separation for reporting for my properties for real estate reasons and it was just too hard to keep them separate.

Nice Intro but not really a free resource

Comments: I wanted to do some light accounting and reconciliation but the free services do not allow for that. you must pay in order to utilize this portion. no different than Quickbooks.

Pros:

Offer a variety of services for small business people

Cons:

The free service offer is the most basic service which is invoice creation

Wave really is the way to go!

Comments: Once of the easiest programs, I honestly can't find anything to 'complain' about. Supper effective, easy, and the right features for a small business.

Pros:

-Very affordable for a single owner small business -EASY to use -Makes accounting anxiety free -You can hire professional bookkeeper if needed -Can add your accountant to the account with ease -Can invoice and track customer payments

Pros:

With Wave, I am able to automate complex accounting tasks such as billing and invoicing.

Cons:

I do not experience challenges with Wave when running accounting projects.

Pros:

With Wave accounting is made easier because it keeps all the history concerning all transactions and all activities done, this reduces on manual error.

Super Easy To Use

Pros:

Wave is super easy to use and it's free! I can create invoices and track my expenses without any hassle

Cons:

Wave is great for basic accounting, but it doesn't have all the features I need. It would be cool if it had project tracking and CRM features

Useful budgeting tool if integrations work.

Comments: Positive, but some integration issues. It was useful until our bank connection broke.

Pros:

Helpful cashflow charts and transaction breakdowns

Cons:

One of our banks doesn't integrate with Wave, which makes it much less useful.

Best free bookkeeping software

Comments: I do bookkeeping services and this product works well with categorizing income and expenses to generate financials.

Pros:

This is the best free accounting software I've used.

My take on wave

Comments: I have been using it for a while now I does the work for me for the time

Pros:

Easy to use. Helps in tracking sales and statements

Cons:

I can not think of what I did not like the application works

Great option for free bookkeeping software

Comments: Wave provides fantastic value given its price point.

Pros:

Wave has a free, entry-level accounting software option that makes it a no-brainer for new small business. I'm able to use their free tier to reconcile my accounts, automatically import transactions, send professional invoices, and produce financial reports without increasing my overhead. The value provided by Wave given the $0 price tag is huge.

Cons:

I have encountered two notable bugs within their software. First, despite efforts to fix it, the Sales Discount account is backwards (it records as a revenue account rather than a contra-revenue account). Second, I've encountered a rounding error within bills that has resulted in my Accounts Payable account being a few cents off even after all bills are paid. There are workarounds that I use weekly to overcome these errors, but Wave has not fixed the errors nor published a timeline for their resolution for months. Finally, most accountants and bookkeepers use QuickBooks and aren't familiar with Wave, so I don't recommend Wave for anyone with an outsourced bookkeeper or complicated tax situation.

Not paying for more than I need!

Comments: Overall I’m extremely satisfied. I don’t feel like I’m forced to pay for things that I really don’t need. The basics are free and the add-ons are reasonably priced

It’s simple and straightforward. It’s got a clean sleek look and it’s very affordable.

Cons:

I wish I could view my transactions within the app instead of just online.

Love the Starter Version of Wave

Comments: I've used Wave for quite a while now & Love it. I will eventually move up to one of the paid subscriptions as this program has enabled me to be more professional with invoicing.

Pros:

Having a free version for small business owners is truly amazing. The fact that it works so well and is very easy to setup & use is a blessing

Cons:

I realize every business needs to make money - the latest update which now makes you download the invoice to send as opposed to being able to send from within Wave is nothing more than a small extra step.

Compact invoicing software

Comments: Was positive till a section of the app was discontinued for non-US subscribers.

Pros:

I love ease of use and functions that match my business needs. Allows branding and customisation of invoices. Love that I can clone invoices saving time for repeat services to same clients ( art coaching in my case)

Cons:

Disappointed that they removed wave receipts for non-US clients. This particular feature was critical to document hard copies of receipts on the go, into the online wave system. Now their is nothing else to integrate the hard copies of receipts into the wave system

Good for Small Business That Doesn’t Need Job Costing

Comments: This is a great app for small businesses or startups that don’t need job costing and don’t have complex accounting situations.

Pros:

Its free version is pretty robust. You can add your branding to forms. You can accept payments.

Cons:

Not a good app for job costing Or if you have multiple projects under one customer. Not robust enough for complex accounting situations

Wave Accounting Services and Customer Service are ABYSMAL!!!

Comments: Its great UNTIL you need to speak to someone... Then they are among the worst companies I have ever dealt with.

Pros:

Invoice creation and sending. Charts are nice.

Cons:

They withdrew money from my account to pay payroll taxes, then didn'tpay the tax. You can't speak to anyone there and thy take forever to get back to you. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Great experience with great features - for free

Comments: My overall experience with Wave has been very positive. Everything works seamlessly, from invoicing to expense tracking, and the interface is intuitive and user-friendly. It’s a reliable platform that makes managing finances straightforward and stress-free. The only small inconvenience is that the business selection doesn’t stay permanent. After logging in, I have to manually switch to the correct business every time, which adds an unnecessary step to the process. Aside from this, Wave has been an excellent tool for managing my business finances.

Cons:

Actually not much comes into my mind. They changed their free basic plan that you cannot send emails now - invoices or reminders. But that seems totally fair.

Amazing Cloud Accounting Product for SMBs

Love the fact that you can do payroll, invoicing, payment by credit card and taxes all in 1 solution for small business

Probably the payroll fee each month that I have to pay. Some providers are free and for small business every single $ counts.

I love WAVE!

Comments: I love Wave. It makes my life so much easier. Its so affordable and easy to use. Everyone should sue it

I love everything about Wave. I have been using it for several years for small business accounting. Its connected right to my business account so I never have to worry about forgetting anything

There is not a single thing I can say wrong about Wave. I have used it for several small businesses of different types and it works for them all!

A simple-to-use accounting platform for small businesses

Comments: I am not a professional accountant but I am able to do simple bookkeeping for my two small businesses myself - thanks to Wave. Invoices can be uploaded in a very intuitive way and connecting outside banking accounts is easy and works very well.

Pros:

Wave is an easy-to-use accounting software. Even people who are not accountants, like myself, can use it. I am a small business owner who does his accounting. The best part is - Wave offers the option to run multiple businesses through the same account. It's very convenient. I simply switch from one business to another without having to log into another account.

Cons:

Many things I did not like about Wave have been fixed over the years. It was mostly performance issues, but they've all been addressed now.

Ride the Wave of simplicity for Small Business Accounting

Comments: Wave account was my only choice when I realized how simple it was to do everything from my phone or tablet. No need to log into laptop or computer

A must have business Accounting service especially for Canada

Comments: My income taxes are basically done as we go at any taken day. If you got everything categorized your taxes are always done.

Pros:

CRA certified Free to use but as good as QuickBooks Great for solopreneurs, freelancers and small business Easy connect to all back accounts and credit card or LOC all under the same account. Can have multiple businesses Auto categorization of income and expances Auto GST calculation on qualified purchases only and on sales and properly calculated in the reports

Cons:

Unless you get an optional paid subscription services that many business don't even need you can not get any support not by email nor by Messenger or on the phone. You are on your own. You can only use their knowledge base or online videos. If you have an issue that is not in the knowledge base you are on your own to figure it out.

Efficient real estate accounting solutions

Pros:

We no longer care about getting reports on the financial performance of our company since the deployment of this solution. It's easy to use and report generation feature are responsive.

Cons:

Its a tool that meets the requirements, we have never regretted.

GREAT FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

Pros:

PROS- ease of recurring billing, saves information for each company or customer needed to be sent invoices, you're able to change pricing for each product or service you are billing for

It is all online so you need to keep track of everything via internet
