"Best Competitive 2D CAD Software"

Comments: I have been using this software for few months for now & having very good experience overall. Mainly I have work in customized block library which I got here & that too without any extra expenses. Also it is a light weight software so can be used on my simple Desktop PC also.

Pros: - Plug & play if you have already used other 2D CAD softwares.
- Vast Library for blocks.
- Ease of use & user friendly
- Can easily switch the license to other workstations without technical support.

Cons: - Sometimes tend to slow down.
- Initially New commands were hard to find because there are many of them.

"ActCAD is a perfect complement to my Civil 3D product"

Comments: AutoCAD compatibility

Pros: - AutoCAD compatibility and commands.
- Fast loads.
- Handles images and underlays well.
- Supports AutoCAD file formats all the way back to the beginning.
- Support always gets back quickly with suggestions and solutions to issues.
- eMails keep you updated with the newest versions.

Cons: My only beef is that it doesn't handle fonts well when creating a PDF document either using the export function or a PDF print driver. The same driver works well creating the fonts with AutoCAD.

Comments: I saved a lot of money by choosing this product.

Pros: The program offers the same functions as much more expensive products. He has a perpetual license, not some subscription. There are no great hardware requirements, but on strong equipment it develops wings. Supports 32/64 bit Microsoft Windows systems at Windows Vista.
It has a multilingual interface.Very good price, modern services and functions, good producer support and frequent updates. It has an interface similar to AutoCAD

Comments: Functionality vis a vis , cost effectiveness. It is exactly suitable to my requirements.

Pros: Virtually all the facilities are available in this software like others, and, the cost is quite affordable. In addition to this, we get quick support from the ' support team '

Cons: Not much really. But, there are some commands that need attention. Like repeat , spline command. Some times a green dotted lines appears on the screen while using some command, and , to remove it, drawing needs to be closed, and, reopened.

"over all we found as good as Autocad."

Comments: No complaints.It serves our end use and objective.Overall happy .Budget was within our pockets.

Pros: It served our purpose. Training was not required . Our engineers just took off on the same day. Cost was affordable.

Cons: Possibly the speed in terms of other similar cad softwares

"ActCAD Professional A Real Value for your money"

Comments: Its having same features and commands available and used in most of the other CAD platforms, So there is no requirement for training

Pros: I am associated with ActCAD since last 3 years. They are very committed people, provide prompt support and dedicated to work on any enhancement request.

"ActCAD is good but there are some bugs to fix."

Comments: I really liked ActCAD and it is certainly a good alternative at a reasonable cost. However, small bugs hinder daily use. I believe that there must be old problems that have not been solved and that seems to be a problem.

Pros: It is an easy to use CAD and has excellent tools, mainly the block library and the BIM interface.

Cons: Some basic problems to be solved:
1. Doesn't the dynmode command exist? Why can't I see the values directly at the cursor?
2. When I click on the screen and drag to select lines or objects, a spot appears on the screen that makes it impossible to continue working. This happens both to the right and to the left. I need to use Zoom to get it back to normal. It is impossible to work like this.
3. When using the Area command and selecting points, the selected region does not change the color. This is extremely useful in daily work.
4. Measurement Snap has a very strong sensitivity and it should be better to avoid wrong directions when we click quickly.

"The most reliable CAD"

Pros: I have to collaborate frequently with users of dwg files, and ActCAD is the best to do this interoperability (and easy to use it, of course).

Cons: Nothing so far. I encountered some minor problems in the 2019 version but in the 2020 version they were resolved.

"Excellent Product with Auto CAD Compatibility"

Pros: I am employed in a small business and ARC CAD does a good job in meeting our needs. The program has similar functionality to Auto CAD and can easily be transferred to other computers. Customer support is great and I love not be burdened by annual subscriptions.

Cons: I would like more control over default parameters including the file type to open on power up. And, most important, I would like to see a lower cost to upgrade from year to year.

"Patchett Joinery ActCAD Review"

Comments: Using the software is great as I used AutoCAD before. However, the freezing problem has not been resolved and my emails to support are mow not being responded to.

Pros: Virtually like for like to AutoCAD so the changeover was seamless

Cons: I have issues with the software freezing and cutting out. This happens daily when I am using the software, usually on several occasions. I have to shutdown all my applications and restart my laptop every time it happens. Obviously this causes disruption to my daily tasks using other software.

"Fantastic Software and Cost Effective"

Comments: I am not yet fully using it, but will be now, because I am also using Draftsight at the same time. In the long term I will fully migrate to ActCAD.

Pros: It is very familiar , very similar to AutoCAD. It is very reasonably priced. The other beauty is that it is portable between different computers.

Cons: There is nothing I didn't like, everything is as I expected.

"Professional CAD at a low cost"

Pros: It is a very complete CAD software, native and compatible DWG format, very known command line, easy to use GUI, LISP programming language.

Cons: It works in Windows OS only. It is not possible to install it in more than one pc.

"Best Value for Money"

Pros: It has the best features of a Lifetime Global License, fully functional commands, excellent PDF and Image to DXF Convertor. The best of all is the Self License Transfer feature.

Cons: Dynamic Block Editing is an issue with the current version.

Pros: Easy to access, most of the tools are as per the auto cad or any other cad software available in the market.

Cons: Response of the software is very slow and its hangs too often . Performance of most of the tools are not in par with the other cad software

Comments: not so good in terms of printing part of drafting .

Pros: All features are good ,highly recommendable. Price is very good.

Cons: it doesn't give real time printing option. the units in actcad plan are not converted to actual units in any size print out.There is error in reading actual printout. not at all worthy to buy such software with limited utility.

Custom units cannot be set up permenantly and need to set them up each time a new drawing is to be created

Comments: Overall I like it

Pros: Easy to understand like popular software.attractive interface and new options in this software makes you to feel better.

Cons: While printing to pdf it doesn't get font very well.

Pros: The software is affordable and convenient to small business. The functions similar to the infamous AutoCAD andeasy to use with reasonable system's requirement to run in typical laptop.

Cons: So far, I haven't encounter any errors or difficulty in using the software

"Don't buy, better software available than Actcad"

Comments: We thought it would be great but we were wrong, only used to convert higher formats to 2010 format only

Pros: A lot of functions are same as AutoCAD, but it IS a slow software, I am unhappy with it. Have 3 keys, will sell if anyone needs

Cons: Regeneration speed is slow, and graphics also are slow and the commands also are not great, used the software for 2 hours max

"Not worth buying for me."

Comments: Disappointing experience. Would probably try another CAD alternative.

Pros: Similar interface and GUI to AutoCAD. Many features (but not all) similar to AutoCAD.

Cons: WORKSPACE - DRAFTING AND ANNOTATION - Block library would not work in most of the cases and would disappear from your drawing and you would not be able to use blocks which they are offering.
- Editing "Attributes" in ActCAD is a forever task. Also, "MTEXT" in attributes does not work most of the times.
- "Field" tab in ActCAD has very less features available as compared to other commercial software. Especially "ctab" feature is not available which is a very basic feature.
- You do not get a different dimension layer in the "Annotation" tab where you can set a different layer to only dimension text and lines.
- Cannot not run "Visual Basic" applications.
- Very Slow. With the recommended system requirements as they have on their website, ActCAD is not able to handle even small scale projects.
- CUSTOMER SUPPORT: They advertise that they have lifetime customer support. They will reply you promptly but the issues still remain UNSOLVED. I contacted customer support regarding "Block Library" issue somewhere in October 2020 but till date the issue is NOT RESOLVED.

Comments: Architecture design and stuctural drawing

Pros: Very good programm in best price in cad desing I have ever used, for the last 15 years professional experencie.

Cons: Nothing for so on. I do not encounter disfunctionality

"ActCAD 2020 Professional - Swiss knife among CADs"

Comments: Purchasing ActCAD 2020 Professional became my favorite basic tool for working in Architecture and Design in 3D World. All in one

Pros: Simplicity, completeness and constant improvement
Life-time, work anywhere on any pc, best support
ActCAD has a future

Cons: I have no objections for now because ActCAD is constantly improving and remarks that they appear removed as soon as possible.
So I went after the transition to AutoCAD Subscription decided to purchase the perpetual ActCAD Pro.

Comments: Cost is the foremost benefit. Other benefit which is equally important is affordable to everyone. Hassle free from monthly subscription.

Pros: I like it has got all features. I like its uncomparable pricing offers with out compromise. More importantly we never felt any issues while using till now.

Cons: Initially need more time to understand the software. Could have been more user-friendly architecture flow.
