Google Drive is the BEST

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: It hasn't caused any issues for me. I have no complaints at this time.

Pros:

I can access anything and everything using my drive. I can monitor it at any time. I can look at my files anytime.

Cons:

It's high price right now... If there was a way to get it cheap - I would.

I would recommend this!

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: My overall experience with Google Drive was positive. If I suddenly had to go without it in my professional or personal life it would probably slow me down. I would recommend using Google Drive. There's no reason to pay extra when there's a great service available for less.

Pros:

I would recommend Google Drive mainly because it's so affordable and still dependable. I've never lost anything or had any major problems. I've never been worried about running out of room which is a huge relief. I think it's very easy to use, and usually it's the default application on my devices. When I click share on a file Google drive pops up as the first option. I was able to easily find the backup and automatic backup settings. It's also easy for me to control who has access.

Cons:

I've only had one problem. Recently when logging in to Google Drive, Google required that I change my password even though I'd had no problems logging in or anything remotely like that. That was really frustrating because I couldn't even change it back to the old one later on. I like to use one secure password across most of my accounts so that I don't risk losing access. I hope this was a one off and doesn't happen again.

Cloud Storage Exchanged?

3.0 5 years ago

Comments: Overall it's still the best value for money and better than the others.

Pros:

Favourite features would probably be that it's easier to use than the other 2 popular offerings out there. Syncing is very easy on PC and mobile devices. I personally like the comfortable view setting that is available. Moving folders on the app is easy enough.

Cons:

Well like everything in life something's could be improved apon. The app could improve on the search function, detection of duplicate files. The filter function needs allot of work oh oh and the search function. And it would be great if more extensions worked with Google drive.

Practicalities and challenges of Google Drive.

5.0 4 weeks ago New

Comments: Google Drive is very practical and reliable with great access and integration. The storage limit and organization could be improved, but it remains essential in my day-to-day life.

Pros:

I really like the cloud storage, Google Workspace integration, real-time collaboration, easy sharing, automatic backup, compatibility, fast search, and security.

Cons:

The cons that I didn't like were the free storage limit of only 15 GB, the need for an internet connection, the sync speed, file organization, version control, privacy, collaboration limitations, and limited integration with other software.

Pros:

I like that I can install Google Drive on my desktop to quickly and easily access my files with the added bonus of being able to download the app for my phone and access my content from other devices at any time.

Cons:

There's nothing that I don't like about Google Drive, it's been a huge benefit for my business, being able to setup a cloud based storage system for access from any device at any time from any location.

Google drive is one of the best choices for online storage and group collaboration/sharing

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: I have been able to help manage larger and smaller groups of people in a way that allows us to have access to shared resources and see what each other are doing. Great for team collaboration. PLus with Google docs and sheets, no more do i have to worry about whether someone on the team has the right kind of software. I love this particular product from google.

Pros:

I love Google Drive and use it almost everyday not just to store some personal documents that i like to have access to from any location but also in managing documents shared with other collaborators. It allows me to share files, view changes others make and history, as well as control access. Now we can all see the same information with out having to deal with revision-version email nightmares groups often can experience.

Cons:

The software works great. I wish they'd add a feature to encrypt data. I think the share area could be revamped to make some sharing tasks easier.

The best cloud storage service

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Three years ago I decided to use google drive and so far my experience on this is absolutely perfect. As station masters we are dealing with documents up to a certain extent and the help google drive gives me throughout my career is great. Specially it made my mind peaceful of knowing that I won't forget any document to carry and all my documents are stored in a safe place. I do mobile photography as one of my hobbies and I don't need any additional SD cards for my phone because I can store them in drive. I have never experienced any loss of files that I stored due to software failure. My overall experience of using google drive is really positive and I would like to recommend anyone who is willing to use a cloud storage which works flawlessly almost 100% of the time.

Pros:

Google drive is the best advanced cloud storage service which gives us free 15GB storage. As a station master I handle lots of confidential files that cannot be saved in a local machine with the fear of being stolen. Laptops and hard drives can be destroyed or stolen and anyone who has access to it can view and modify files. Also if there is meeting and if I forgot to take my pen-drive which contains the documents, that's a big problem. For all these problems I decided to use a google drive as the cloud storage few years back. When I moved to use it; it made my life really easier and thank god I don't need to worry anymore. I'm using the free feature set provided by google drive and those features are enough for me. For me, the best feature is sharing google docs and slides that are stored in cloud with my team. I can provide edit privilege to do the changes and using logs I can track the changes made to the files. File and folder sharing is really simple. Just a right click and select whatever the option I need. All the people that I involve with are not techy. So by sharing a link make them easier because what they just need to do is click that link and to the editing. They don't need to download documents, do the editing and upload them again. The syncing capability automatically sync my information with the devices that my account logged in and the services that I connected to google drive like google docs, sheets, slides and whatsapp make backups and save daily.

Cons:

The uploading and downloading time is bit high for the larger files and it highly depends on the internet speed as well. Sometimes it's bit confusing to figure out which files I have shared publicly and which files not. To be honest that is the only issue that I have experienced with google drive.

Almost everything you could want in file sharing and storage

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: We're using it for basically everything file-related. If it's a document of any kind, it's stored in Drive. God help me if the internet ever goes down because I store pretty much everything in the cloud. That said, there are options to make files available offline.

Pros:

What I love most about Google Drive is that I can upload almost anything to it and share with other people or accounts. I use it to share files with my employees. I use it to draft estimates that I can collaborate on in real time with my business partner hundreds of miles away. I use it to draft web content that I can share directly to my web developer. On the personal side I can use it to share anything between my accounts or to friends, even frivolous stuff like old video game ROMs. I can store recipes and other instructions and access them on any device. Sure there are other platforms that have these functions, but being able to create and share everything right in my web browser is perfect for me. The Google integration is ideal for me, so hands down it's the best file storage and sharing option I've ever come across.

Cons:

I find that the interface gets cluttered pretty quickly. I have a lot stored in Drive and sometimes it takes me much longer than I'd like to find what I'm looking for. This is partially due to me just needing to organize my files better, and partly due to the way items are laid out in the interface. I don't know exactly what I'd do to fix it, but I do know it's not as quick and easy to visually find information as I'd like it to be.

Best cloud storage platform hands down!

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: I love it, its hard to believe I used external hard drives all the time before I got my google account. Makes it so easy to share pictures and videos with my clients and the email notifications that I uploaded for them makes it easy so I do not have to reach out every single time. Of course I feel confident in the storage solution and makes me not have to worry about hard drives failing knowing that google has me covered. Its truly the best solution in my opinion.

Pros:

The easiness of sharing documents and files with others. I love that I can make different folders with different people able to view the content. Everyone has a google account and I feel like it is the most universal and best platform to use for cloud storage. I have never met someone that doesn't have a google account so its easy to share. Team folders are great for collaborations. I like that even if someone deletes something on accident not only is there a paper trail of who did it but you can still recover files within a certain time frame incase something does happen. I love the Google File Stream integration that allows you to pretty much see your google drive as a USB drive that is plugged into your computer.

Cons:

I dislike working between the browser and apps the most. I feel like the interfaces are a little different and just have to learn what each can and cant do or how to do it on one or the other. However that is me being really nit picky and I honestly do not see much wrong with this cloud storage site.

A solid choice for a backup solution for small businesses

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: I on and off looked for a backup solution for the many many thousands of photos I take during home inspections. I needed to back up photos from my work phone (Android) automatically while retaining folder structures. I was convinced I needed to solve my backup issue with Google Photos and spent a lot of time looking for ways to backup photos automatically WHILE retaining a folder structure (I didn't want to have to manually create Albums). Then I looked at other solutions like Dropbox and may others. The final straw was when I left a laptop on a plane and low and behold, nobody turned it in. I lost a lot of valuable photos. So I got serious. I finally figured out that using Google Drive, I can use third party apps such as Autosync for Google Drive on my Android phone that will automatically do what I want. Now, life is bueno. I sleep easy at night and have stopped checking daily to make sure things backed up.

Pros:

I like that I have multiple ways to access Google Drive. I can access it from computer, phone, the app, the Internet. I like that I can easily change between Drive accounts as well. I keep personal and business separate. I also like that there are multiple ways to auto backup to Drive. I use an app on my business phone called Drive Sync that automatically detects new files in a certain directory, and backs them up retaining the folder structure to a designated Drive location. That's something I was unable to accomplish with Google Photos.

Cons:

I'd have to say I am not super jazzed about the sharing functionality. I take videos of part of our inspection process on homes and share them with clients. If the client does not have a Google account, sometimes it does not automatically allow them to view using the link that gets sent with the invite unless I take extra steps and create a link and set it so that anyone can view it. I'd like to be able to have some settings where I can default that anyone with the invite link or email can view the files / video. I would not have to go through so many steps each time I share a file. It also seems the same functionality is not available on the drive app through my Android phone as there is when I use a computer and access it. It seems there are more features for sharing when I use the computer. I think they could use some streamlining on the sharing features. The other thing I am a little puzzled by is why doesn't Google Drive have a robust auto backup solution that his highly configurable. I am a Google business customer, and I figured this would be something beneficial to include with either Drive or an enhanced business version of Drive tools.

Google Drive retired my pendriver and memory cards

5.0 4 years ago

Pros:

Google Drive makes all the difference in my professional and personal career with my team. A prominent feature in the new service is the search for files, which is done in the entire content of the file, using keywords and filters, such as, for example, file type and creator user. The service also promises to recognize objects within your scanned images and texts, providing data about your documents. In addition to the powerful search, Google Drive has a tool for viewing files, which displays more than 30 types of files in the user's browser. The files range from high definition videos to Adobe Photoshop files, to text documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

Cons:

The Google Drive service integrates version control for stored files. All changes made to the files are recorded and saved automatically for 30 days. If the user wishes, it is possible to choose a version to save forever. Thus, users can have control of what was done in their files, knowing what was changed, when and by whom. Version control for all files (Photo: Reproduction / Disclosure) Version control for all files.

Exploring Google Drive: Your trusted online companion.

5.0 last year

Comments: As an intern in the pharmaceutical development and research department at the University, Google Drive was an invaluable tool. We use Google Drive to store and share documents, presentations and spreadsheets related to our project. The ability to collaborate in real time and keep all the files organized in one place facilitated the communication and productivity of the team. In addition, the integration with other Google applications allowed us to create and edit documents directly on the platform without having to download them or worry about the latest versions. In general, Google Drive was fundamental to our daily work and contributed to simplifying our research and development tasks.

Pros:

Google Drive offers a wide range of advantages for individual users, companies and work teams. With an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, it allows you to store, synchronize and access files from any device with an Internet connection. Its integration with other Google applications, such as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, facilitates editing and collaboration in real time. In addition, it offers a generous amount of free storage, with expansion options at affordable prices. The file sharing function allows you to share documents and folders with other users in a simple way, and the privacy and security options provide peace of mind by protecting personal and professional information.

Cons:

Although Google Drive is an excellent option in general, it has some limitations. One of the drawbacks is the dependence of an Internet connection to access the files stored in the cloud. In addition, sometimes automatic synchronization can be slow, especially with large files. Some users may also find restrictions on the amount of free storage available, which may require the purchase of additional plans. In addition, there are concerns about the privacy of the data stored in the cloud, since Google has access to the files to show personalized ads.

Like most Google products...

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: We use Drive for all collaboration and for a lot of content creation. We create policy documents, collaborate on ideas, create tests and forms, and generally use the heck out of Google Drive and its related applications (Sheets, Docs, Forms, Slides, etc). The Google business app ecosystem is incredibly powerful and user-friendly. It just works. It always works. It works so well you take it for granted. It works on desktop, it works on mobile. It works even better on ChromeOS. Google Sign-In is perhaps the greatest security boon for administration, too. If you disable one account, all related functionality that relies on Google Sign-In is also disabled for that user, so multiple platforms can be administered from one console / user login. If an employee leaves, you just disable their account and all their logins to all the applications that use Google Sign-In are also disabled. The permissions system is also good and getting better. It's very intuitive and works like it's supposed to. We've been using Google Apps for Enterprise for 10 years now, and have never regretted it.

Pros:

It's easy to use, it's generous storage, and it allows you to forego up front licensing models of competitors like Microsoft Office in favor of a subscription "pay for what you use" model. We use Drive as a part of Google Apps for Enterprise, and I don't think you can diassociate those applications from Drive; they're bundled together. You either get all of them or none of them, basically, which is a plus or a minus, depending on your perspective. Also, it's a bit weird to review just Drive without taking those other things into consideration, but I'll try. Easily the most stable software platform we've ever subscribed to.

Cons:

Customer support is always Google's weakest point. The company is congenitally against allowing customers to talk directly to support representatives, although it's definitely getting better about it lately. Access is entirely dependend on internet access. If Comcast or Verizon lets you down, uh...you're kind of hosed.

Google Drive's Got It All, and a Lot of Free Space to Share

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Whether in a business setting, my personal life, or my university studies, Drive is integral to my success and I wouldn't want to go without it.

Pros:

Google Drive is such a generous Cloud based storage platform. My university had a partnership with Google Drive granting us unlimited storage, but even when that has been taken away, I've never felt pressed for space. It's so much more than storage though, as the integration between all of the other Google Suite platforms and email is seamless and simple. Organization is quick and easy, and you can create folders and view edits/make shares with little effort. I share pictures with other members of my family, and it's easy to upload photos directly into a Drive folder and then share with whomever. The uploads are quick, and the massive amount of available storage means that I don't have to pick and choose. Preservation is also something I'm trying to get better at, and having my documents on the Drive, even if they're duplicates of what I have on my computer, makes me feel better prepared in the event of a dreaded computer crash. I also like that it is part of my computer files window, making it easy to drag and drop files straight to the Drive without having to manually upload them on the site. Bonus: The App is really user friendly and its easy to view the documents using the App if you're on the go.

Cons:

The App makes it quite difficult to make actual edits to documents, but is great for simply viewing. I just wouldn't rely on the App to replace the desktop version (it seems like that is where the expectations of apps are going these days). The softwares within Google Drive, such as Google Sheets or Google Docs, do have better counterparts out there (aka their Microsoft equivalents). However, for the average user, and when you factor in the ease and accessibility provided by Drive in bringing them all together into one interface, it makes it worth it by far.

Google Drive is a Best opportunity for Freelancers

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: As a freelancer i have a great experience with google drive. Easily i have share data of my projects with my clients and get all the requirements also here on google drive.
so overall i have a great experience with it

Pros:

As a freelancer, Google drive is my first and foremost selection to deal with my clients efficiently. I upload all necessary documents in Google Drive to share with my friends. My clients feel it convenient to use this service because it allows sharing a file in each format. The other benefit I get from Google Drive is the security implementations. I can lock my files as well as I can share my data with limited and selected persons. Advanced encryption of 256-bit never allows the hacker to hack our essential personal data. Its protection with a cloud storage system is incredible. The storage characteristics of Google drive is highly appreciated to me. Google drive offers me 15GB of data for free to store essential files. I can easily save and upload my family pictures to this service. The other offer I get from Google drive is 100GB of data for two years. Yes, Google drive also provides free 100GB of data for two years. You can also avail this opportunity as well from the free storage system of Google drive. I can access my photos, presentation and files in any format at any place in the world. I have to log in to my Google account and start using this service. I don't need to take a USB or CD during travelling. I have no words on the speed of downloading and uploading files. I enjoy the working of this service. It reduces time wastage and all confusion to me. I can make multiple folders in Google drive. You can manage your complete specific information in a related folder. I

Cons:

The security threats of Google drive sometimes makes me feel unsure. Google drive gives a potential security system that means it can harm my computer physically or non physically. There might be a chance of viruses in my computer. There are also chances of my computer threatening after excess info and location info to a hacker. Google drive always demand an internet connection. Sometimes, I don't have good signals to use this service. I feel trouble at that time using google drive. The necessary internet access for Google drive is somehow the least interested to me. The other difficulty I face from the Google drive is the file size limits. Google drive is restricted to upload high-quality files and videos. The working of this service becomes slow when dealing with high MBS files. For that, I minimize the quality of files, which is undesired to me. The next factor, which is the slightest desire to me, is unpredictable third party access. I even don't know which applications are getting access to my Google drive. I decrease my trust in data security issues. Some applications on my computer are directly attached to this service. These are the only few issues I face in using Google drive. Otherwise, I have good experience with this excellent service.

An Easy to Use and USeful Storage Tool

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall, I have had a good experience. It is easy to use and helpful for productivity and when you’re on-the go.

Pros:

Firstly, it’s very easy to use. I also like the integration across google services such as gmail and google docs. You can send large documents in gmail through a google drive link and you can access your google docs easily from your drive etc. You can easily use Drive with other services such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. I like the "portability" of Google Drive. I love that I can access it anytime and anywhere with an internet connection and can move from PC to mobile and to any PC with internet access and being able to access all your files. I also like the ability to share with others with a simple link and then you're able to see all persons who have access to the file. The ability to link and sync with a folder on your PC is very helpful. You don't have to actively remember to upload/back-up the files to your drive - you can simply operate from that folder on your PC. The monthly subscription is affordable to move from the free 15GB to the 100GB.

Cons:

Like most other google services, it is internet-based and so you will need the internet to access your files. The exception is when you have the folder synced on your PC. However, you will still need to connect to the internet to sync and update. The 15 GB limit for free accounts is very limited in today’s climate when files are becoming larger and larger. A few high quality videos can completely deplete your storage. There are some security concerns as with most network-based services regarding malicious access to your files as well as potential google services tracking and data sharing.

Google Drive is a wonderful short-term solution to cloud storage requirements

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: Google Drive is an immensely useful software for professionals getting started with cloud storage, especially for students. The ability to dynamically sync files from your phone and computer makes this a must-have cloud utility for everyone.

Pros:

A fantastic product when it first came into being, Google Drive is the first go-to for a college student such as myself when uploading photos or documents to the cloud. The ability to share files with other users via a link with the added ability to set write privileges for the recipient makes it a wonderfully easy to understand as well as powerful tool. What I like most about Google Drive, however, is the Backup and Sync feature, which lets the user set up folders on his computer that are dynamically backed up to the drive and hence accessible from any device. Another great, yet similar feature is the ability to set up Google photos such that every picture one clicks on their phone is immediately backed up to the drive. Overall, Google drive is an amazing software that I would highly recommend, especially to fellow students such as myself.

Cons:

There are a few drawbacks to Google drive. One is the limited amount of storage available for free users (15 GB gets used awfully fast when you take backups onto your drive ), but there is additional storage available if you are a student. Another bug that frequents drive, is that when you share access privileges to a file with another person, it sometimes doesn't work, and the person has to request access to the document again. This has more to do with the cookies on the browser than the Drive itself, but can still be quite frustrating at times.

This can help to solve several common business problems, such as:File sharing and collaboration: Google Drive allows teams to easily share and collaborate on documents in real-time, which can increase productivity and improve communication.Accessibility: Google Drive allows users to access their files from any device with an internet connection, which makes it easy for teams to work remotely or on the go.Backup and disaster recovery: Google Drive can be used to store important files and documents, providing a secure backup in case of data loss.Cost savings: Google Drive can be used as an alternative to expensive on-premises storage solutions, resulting in cost savings for businesses.Integration with other tools: Google Drive can be integrated with other tools and services, such as Google Suite, which expands its functionality and makes it more versatile. These benefits can be seen in improved team collaboration, increased productivity, cost savings, and better accessibility of the data.

Pros:

Google Drive provides generous free storage space, allowing users to store a large amount of files and documents. This makes it a great option for personal use, as well as for small businesses and organizations. The productivity-suite collaboration features, such as the integration with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, make it a powerful tool for team collaboration and work. The ability to sync files between desktops allows users to easily access their files from multiple devices, and third-party integrations with other apps and services expand its functionality. Additionally, Google Drive offers cross-platform apps for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, making it accessible on a wide range of devices.

Cons:

Google Drive's consumer desktop utility stores all the files locally, so users can access them even when they're offline. However, this could raise privacy concerns as the files are stored on the local device and could potentially be accessed by others. Additionally, Google Drive does not offer a password-protection feature for shared files, which means that if a link to a shared file is shared with an unintended recipient, they will have access to the shared file. This could be a security concern for users who are sharing sensitive or confidential information.

A Comprehensive Review of Google Drive: A Secure and Convenient Solution for File Sharing, Data Stor

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Google Drive is a comprehensive and user-friendly solution for file sharing, data storage, and document management. With features such as encryption to protect data both in transit and at rest, access controls and permissions to manage who can access and modify files, and mobile access through its mobile app, Google Drive offers a secure and convenient way to share, store and collaborate on data. Additionally, the ability to seamlessly integrate with other Google services like Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, makes it an efficient solution for document management and real-time collaboration. The storage limit for free users may be an inconvenience for some users, but for most users the storage is more than enough. Overall, Google Drive is a solid choice for businesses and individuals looking for a reliable, secure and easy-to-use cloud-based platform for file sharing and data storage

Pros:

one of the features that I find most useful about Google Drive is its ability to seamlessly integrate with other Google services, such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. This allows users to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations directly from within the Google Drive platform, making it a convenient and efficient solution for document management. Additionally, the real-time collaboration feature allows multiple users to work on the same document simultaneously, making it easy to work on projects with others remotely.

Cons:

one limitation of Google Drive is that it has a storage limit, which means that there is a maximum amount of data that can be stored on the platform. For users with large amounts of data, they may need to upgrade to a paid plan to increase their storage capacity. Additionally, some users may have concerns about privacy and security with storing their data on a cloud-based platform, although Google Drive provides advanced encryption and security measures to protect user data
